Ally Sheedy Bio

Alexandra Elizabeth Sheedy is an American actress. In 1983, she made her debut on screen in Bad Boys. Later she was part of the Bratpack and was a star in WarGames The Breakfast Club Short Circuit. In recognition of her role of Lisa Cholodenko's High Art Sheedy won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Leading Actress. The 12th April in 1992 Sheedy married actor David Lansbury, the nephew of actor Angela Lansbury and son of Edgar Lansbury the original producer of Godspell. Beckett is their son, born 1994. Sheedy learned many things from Beckett, a transman. Alexandra Elizabeth Ally Sheedy (born June 13, 1962) is an American stage and stage actor and the writer of two works. Her best-known work is the role of Bratpack in films The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire. The Breakfast Club is the name of the John Hughes film. The title of the film, "The Breakfast Club" is an homage to a school nickname for detention. Presumably students arrive early in the morning, usually around breakfast, to be detained. They are the Next Generation. Sheedy is now an educator. Sheedy has taught acting classes at City College, New York City.
